One of my most abiding memories is Muhammad Ali’s 50th Birthday Celebration, and it took place in 1992, two years after the unbanning of the former liberation movements in South Africa. Former President Nelson Mandela sent a video message of support to this splendid occasion.
Fast-forward to 2018, and another giant celebrates his golden jubilee, Josiah Rammushi also
known as Josimar. I had the privilege of attending his celebrations with my wife, and we joined with a few of his friends wearing black and gold to celebrate his golden jubilee. It was a moment to celebrate black excellence, to learn and be equipped by fellow travellers in this journey.
A year has since passed since the celebration of Josimar’s golden jubilee, this week he started another decade, as he marches towards his SASA years, he is still as contemporary and as current as ever. His work ethic and passion for all that is excellent remains unshaken.
Back to that day in 1992, after a tribute to Ali, Mandela closed his remark by saying “Congratulations and happy birthday, my friend, as one boxer to another, you are a knock-out expert. As far as life is concerned, you will always remain, the undefeated champion of the whole world.”
As far as music collection and music appreciation is concerned, you are a selector par excellence. You make our Saturdays to be filled with bliss and joy. In the words of Plato, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” Since you bring life to everything through your music connoisseur, to us, you remain the undisputed champion in life!

To celebrate his 51st, Josimar released a mixtape.
